Description
Overview
The Mixtron MX 250 P110 is a water-powered proportional dosing pump that injects fertilizer, nutrients, or treatment concentrate directly into a water line — with no electricity and no external power source. Water flowing through the unit drives the dosing piston, drawing concentrate from a stock tank and blending it at a fixed ratio. Because dosing is tied to water movement, the injected percentage stays consistent even as line pressure and flow fluctuate.

Built for continuous proportional dosing
The MX 250 P110 accepts water flow from 10 to 2,500 l/h (0.05–11.0 GPM) and operates across a pressure range of 0.3–6 bar (4.35–87 psi), with a maximum static pressure of 10 bar (145 psi). Dosing is set on the unit itself and adjustable from 1% to 10% (1:100 to 1:10), holding an accuracy of ±5% with ±3% repeatability.
Wetted components are built for sustained contact with concentrated solutions — AISI 316 and Duplex stainless steel for metal parts, with POM, PP, HDPE, and PA12 technopolymers. This unit is the ON/OFF valve cover variant with Viton seals (distributor code MX.250.P110.1.S.OF.1.BSP.V, part #711242); the ON/OFF cover lets you stop dosing without shutting off the water line.
How It Works
Proportional dosing in four steps
The P110 installs directly on a pressurised water line. The same water that flows through it also powers it — there is nothing else to connect.
Water enters the pump
Flow from the main line pushes the pump's internal piston.
The piston draws suction
That motion pulls concentrate up the suction line from the stock tank.
Concentrate is metered in
The drawn concentrate blends into the water flow inside the pump.
Dosed water flows out
The output leaves at the exact ratio you set — anywhere from 1% to 10%.
No electricity. No motor. No controller.
The P110 runs on line pressure alone — install it wherever water flows and it doses, including remote sites and through power outages.

Applications
Common applications
Greenhouse & nursery fertigation
Inject liquid fertilizer into irrigation lines at a fixed ratio across benches, beds, and propagation areas.
Hydroponic nutrient dosing
Blend concentrated nutrient solution into the feed line without hand-mixing reservoirs or relying on a powered doser.
pH & EC correction
Dose pH-adjusting or corrective solutions proportionally so concentration stays stable as flow changes through the day.
Irrigation chemical injection
Add treatment chemicals, wetting agents, or supplements to a pressurised irrigation system at the point of use.
Water-treatment dosing
Meter treatment concentrate into a water line for general horticultural and facility water-treatment tasks.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Mixtron MX 250 P110 need electricity?
No. The pump is driven entirely by the water flowing through it — the water's own pressure and flow move the dosing piston. It can be installed at remote irrigation points with no power supply, and it keeps dosing through a power outage.
What is a proportional dosing pump?
A proportional dosing pump injects concentrate at a set percentage of the water passing through it, rather than a fixed amount per minute. As line flow rises or falls, the injected volume rises or falls with it — so the mix ratio stays constant without a controller or sensor. The P110 is adjustable from 1% to 10%.
How does the MX 250 P110 compare to a Dosatron?
Both are water-powered proportional injectors that work on the same principle — no electricity, with dosing tied to water flow. Dosatron is the long-established name in the category. The MX 250 P110 is a comparable Italian-made unit; the right choice between any two models comes down to matching the maximum flow rate and dosing-ratio range to your system. The P110 handles up to 11 GPM at a 1–10% ratio.
What flow rate and system size does the P110 suit — and when is it not the right pump?
The P110 operates from 10 l/h up to 2,500 l/h (0.05–11.0 GPM) on a pressurised line of 0.3–6 bar. It suits small-to-moderate-flow systems.
It is not the right choice for lines running above 11 GPM (the higher-capacity MX 300, MX 500, and MX 900 models are the better match), for unpressurised or gravity-fed lines that cannot drive the piston, or for highly corrosive concentrates that have not been checked against the pump's wetted materials. If you are unsure, contact us before ordering and we will confirm the fit.
Can the P110 dose fertilizer, acids, and cleaning chemicals?
This unit ships with Viton seals, which broaden chemical compatibility across a wider range of fertigation and treatment concentrates than standard seals. Compatibility still depends on the specific chemical and concentration — always confirm your concentrate against the pump's wetted materials (AISI 316, Duplex, POM, PP, HDPE, PA12, Viton) before use.
